Week One

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

It is hard to believe that we have been “officially” open for a week now.  Seems that the little details are endless, yet the facility looks lovely.  Friends and colleagues have been stopping by, getting the “grand tour” and admiring all it has to offer.  We even hosted our first networking meeting today, with 2 more events to come this week.  We welcome our latest employees:  Eileen Toll, who is the administrator on duty M-F, and Racquel Romans who is working the position on weekends.  Both are wonderful additions to our venture and bring a wonderful energy and professionalism with them.

After our “soft opening”, we’re ready to really hit the ground running the week of Nov. 5th when we start with an Open House to launch our regular programming.  Look for early morning yoga (6:15 am!) for members and a variety of interesting and informative seminars in the evenings.

Stop by any time…there’s always someone here to greet you!

Getting there…

Chris building shelvesJanet Neal, jack of many trades!Thank goodness for my children!  Besides being great kids, fun to be around, and the loves of my life, they are great workers!  My son Christopher has helped put together furniture on beautiful days when he could be out with his friends and my daughter Emily diligently shuttled packages from room to room.  Finally we have most boxes out of sight and can see the carpet again!  I do believe we will be ready for Monday!

Becoming Reality

Monday, October 8th, 2007

A year ago I was struggling with coming up for an idea for my 2nd year grad school project.  I took the time to look around me and observe.  What I saw were women who were clamoring for an opportunity to connect with other professional women.  And I saw how difficult it was to find a place to hold my networking meetings.  And so, what started a year ago as a blending of these observations, comes to reality in a week!  I cannot wait to witness the energy and connections that will result as when we all come together in this new facility!
